Tour Itinerary:

Mungo is an area rich in Aboriginal history. Evidence found here dates back well over 40,000 years to man's early occupation of this once much wetter area. This area is listed as a World Heritage area, and is the site of the world’s oldest human cremation. Menindee/Kinchega is an area abundant in bird and animal life where the Darling River meanders through the Park feeding an extensive lake system many times larger than Sydney Harbour.

Day 1: Its' off to an early start and we begin the day with a peaceful cruise on the Darling River wetlands, then tour the spectacular Menindee Lakes system and Menindee township.  We explore the area, visiting several of the lakes in the system. When full the lakes hold more water than Sydney Harbour.

Then we go on to Kinchega National Park, an oasis for bird and wildlife, with landscapes that include river and lakes, ancient sand dunes and salt bush plains.  In the afternoon we follow the Darling River south to Bindara Station where we stop for our overnight accommodation. The property has a wealth of colonial history, being first settled in 1849. The evening meal is a campfire dinner with your hosts. (L,D)

Day 2:  After breakfast we head off to the historic river port of Pooncarie for morning tea, then on to Mungo National Park.  Step back in time to an era when giant marsupials roamed the earth. An area rich in Aboriginal history, Mungo is providing evidence that human occupation of this once much wetter area dates back well over 40,000 years.  A highlight of our Mungo visit is the “Walls of China” lunette system.  In the late afternoon we head to the township of Wentworth for our overnight stay in motel accommodation.  (LB,L,D)

Day 3: We start the day exploring Wentworth at the confluence of the Murray and Darling Rivers.  Then its off for a look around Mildura, before proceeding to the award winning Trentham Estate Winery for lunch by the Murray River. In the  afternoon we follow the Silver City Highway back to Broken Hill for trips end.  (LB,L)
